Author: Yeremyah Do not be called leader

"And you should not be called leaders because only one is your leader, the anointed one." - Matay (Matthew) 23:10

This includes all synonyms for leader, including guide, director, head (outside of immediate family), controller, pilot.

The Natzraya might be compared to an airline.

The Pilot. This is Yeshua the Mashiha. He is at the front leading us, turning right or left, up or down. He alone controls the direction that everyone will go. He follows the flightplan given to him. No one else controls the plane.

The Stewards / Stewardesses. These are those appointed to serve the rest of the passengers and all their needs. To comfort them, bring them food and water, and to explain proper behaviour, the destination, show hospitality, look after the sick, answer how the plane works, and what to do in an emergency.

The Passengers. These are the masses of passengers that have put their faith in the pilot and his plane to deliver them safely to their destination. They have left everything behind and put their lives in the hands of the pilot and his crew. If they follow the rules, everything will go well.

The Travel Agents. These are the emmissaries who introduce and promote the whole package, and try to convince others to go on the flight to a wonderful destination. They explain to the prospective traveller what to expect, what it will cost them to go. They help the passengers prepare.

A well organized system works effectively. But when some unscrupulous persons start determining that they are in fact a leader, they upset the natural order of things. They simply can not unite with others who also have "leaders", because no leader wants to be usurped by another. A leader takes on the greatest responsibility, and that role has already been fulfilled among us.

Those who attempt to ridicule Yeshua's teachings do not exercise discernment between the spiritual and the secular use of these terms, great, father, leader. There are some who profess to follow Yeshua yet disobey his teachings, and attempt to find every reason to justify their rebellion. Are they just wilfully ignorant, or are they simply egotistical? Avoid such persons.

If a group of Natzraya want to go camping in the woods, one could be designated the "leader" to guide them to their destination and this would not be a conflict. This is because it is a practical or secular designation that does not apply to the whole of Natzraya as a spiritual entity. On the other hand one can not claim to be the spiritual leader of Natzraya community.

Our one and only recognized leader, the pre-eminent from among men, is Yeshua Natzraya.
