Our Story

Natzraya is the Aramaic and original form of the name 'Nazarenes'. Originally Nazarenes were so called because they were from a rich agricultural area located on the west side of Lake Tiberius called Natzaret. It is from this area that our leader, Rabbi Yeshua, the most famous Nazarene, established his following. His followers where consequently referred to as Nazarenes regardless of where they resided.

Natzar has the meaning of keeper. Nazarenes can be simply described as those who keep the commandments of God and the testimony of Yeshua the messiah. This means that the guiding principles for the Nazarene community come from the Torah and its teaching and interpretation by Rabbi Yeshua Natzraya. Following these principles make intentional community living successful.

These principles have one common denominator, and that is love. It is because of love of God and the human family, the children of God, that Nazarenes live as a family. Local communities of Nazarenes share their resources so that everyone's needs are met. Together we can achieve more goals, have more opportunities, improved quality of life and deeper relationships than is possible by living independently, apart and only having occasional interaction.

The Nazarene faith is not merely a religion, but a superior way of life that satisfies our thirst for love, hope, understanding and all good spiritual qualities. To thrive and be spiritually complete, effective and successful requires a supportive environment. There is no limit to the size of this environment and so it can save as much of the world that adopts it.
